Lollipop Seat

After many requests and a lot of prototyping we have now created an almost exact duplicate of the amazing Lollipop racing style seat.    We are lucky enough to have had an original Lollipop seat in our inventory that we carefully removed the seat material, foam, and carpet backing then made a perfect mold from the original thin layer hand laid fiberglass.  

During prototyping we found we needed to strengthen the neck and lower back areas as they were cracked and showed spots of weakness.  We were able to use hand laid cloth instead of blown chipped fiberglass to make the seat both very strong and still light.  We also added a bit thicker metal plates for attaching to the base which again was an improvement.  In the end we are just 2 pounds heavier than the original and MUCH stronger and safer.

Next we matched all the cushion pieces to templates and glued them in precisely. We then let our master upholsterers match the Recaro cloth/foam material for a perfect fit.

Lastly, we sourced very light & thin German loop carpeting to match the carpet back of the original.

And there you have it.   A new, stronger, and safer Lollipop for your RSR or any race type application. The only down side to this seat is the size.  It is very narrow as it was designed for the small, light, and fit race drivers of the day.  It is an exact copy, but may not be functional for everyone --- but wait, we fixed that with the new Lollipop-Comfort seat which is exactly the same mold, but widened 2 inches in the back and seat bottom.   Yes, now even normal people can sit in one, be comfortable, but also very stable for those track days or sporty driving.

And what’s better than a Lollipop-Comfort size for “real men”!!Yes, the original Lollipop was designed for let’s say “small”, I prefer “tiny” drivers, and the new Comfort size fits non-supermodel size people perfectly.What a thrill ride in a Lollipop replica seat – style AND comfort.
